BEEP BEEP BEEP!

I happened to look at my sitemeter. The stuff the people want is here (well, this is just an user video of what you want). It's also here which I mentioned elsewhere on this blog. The basic deal is that this band(?) takes classical music, modifies it and writes words for it. Do you remember that McDonald's commercial with words written for Fur Elise (redundant, right?)? Well, they might be onto something because I still remember the lines about the fries and her brother. Nice marketing there.

I'm way up the search engine results for this one because I coupled M00nlight S0nata and BEAP BEAP BEAP in separate posts. I misspell here because people are not wanting to accidentally come to this blog.

Since I'm just passing off content and not providing any kind of meaningful service. Have you seen this? Whenever I see the "making of" of a project like this I am both horrified and amazed. How does one become so meticulous? I mean, wow. I'd be a totally lazy animator. How did the fox get all the way over there? I'll tell you how. Self-teleportation. The fox is also trans-dimensional. Shut it kid.

. . . and I can't take it anymore!

Ok. Rare Saturday post here at the Marginally Clever, but it can't wait.

The Verizon commercial with the Waldo/"we're the network" character getting into the cab . . . right. He then morphs into a "laboring" women and the other "network" members he's with become the woman's mother and friend/sister. Uhh . . . why? Does Waldo have a contract stipulating that he must appear in every new Verizon commercial? Wouldn't it have been just as effective for the woman to appear during the entire commercial? Are they trying to tell us that as a phone company they are so ingrained with our needs that they are actually US?

Whatever it is. It's creeping me out.

some thoughts on commercials

  • Ok, jewelry/diamond industry - we get it. Jewelry/diamonds make good gifts. Don't worry you're the perennial fallback for every guy with a significant other, you know, if the vacuum we're looking to gift is out of stock or whatnot.
  • Have you seen the Lexus commercial with the wife/mother getting the new car? The husband/father is outside with their kid and a new Lexus for the wife. He calls her and pretends he has to work late and can't pick-up the kid. She agrees to do it, but is giving a ton of attitude, including hanging up on him while he's saying, "I love you.". They are intimating he does this often? It's unclear. She goes outside and is elated by her new car. So the message is either: 1. It's ok to be an absentee father so long as you buy your wife a Lexus (kids are SOL). OR 2. Occasionally, you have to work late to bring home the bacon and your insufferable bitch of a wife can't take time away from the comforts you provide in order to pick-up your kid. The only way to appease her - new car. The commercial confuses.
  • The new "Dude" Bud Light commercials. Might not be universally liked as my mom said, "What's the point of that? He says 'dude' about everything?"
